Grant in London

London for Free

There's no doubt about it, London is one of the most expensive places to live or visit.  Afternoon tea at the Ritz will now set you back around £45 for a cuppa darjeeling and a few cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches (sans crusts!).  A rugby game at Twickenham costs around £70 for a seat in the nosebleed section and a visit to the Tower of London will rob you of almost £21! I almost choked when I logged onto the Ster-Kinkekor website recently - for old times sake  - and saw that movies were R14 a pop.  That's about £1.20.  A ticket at the … [Read More...]

About Grant

Grant Bushby has been in London for almost 13 years (lucky?). A Rhodes University graduate, he's ex-Ster-Kinekor, ex-M-Net and ex-BBC Worldwide – and now works as Head of Marketing & PR for Impossible Pictures, an independent television production company. He's married to a gorgeous Kiwi (but still a Springbok supporter), has a young son, Finn, and lives in Twickenham – right across the road from the rugby stadium. Loves London but the weather needs to improve. Grant doesn't get to go back to SA as much as he'd like, but when he does, he stocks up on biltong (the Butcher Shop & Grill in Sandton), rusks (Woolies) and Milky Bar Crunch (Pick & Pay).
